Elizabeth Marazita, DAOM, Director of Integrative Medicine Department
Dr. Elizabeth F. Marazita
Elizabeth Marazita is the head of Mundo Pato’s department of Integrative Medicine (www.elizabeth.marazita.com). As a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, she has served as a clinical faculty for the University of Washington School Of Nursing, the Bastyr University Medical School, and the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Houston teaching foot reflexology and Chinese Medicine.
Elizabeth’s wellness philosophy is one of self-care, empowerment and prevention. Elizabeth lectures nationally and internationally on wellness to business executives and to heath care professionals. Dr. Marazita is fluent in 7 languages and can do consultations in Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French and German.
Elizabeth’s 2007 Doctoral Thesis in Chinese Medicine and Oncology was entitled, “Efficacy of Cobblestone Mat Walking versus Conventional Walking for Breast Cancer Patients undergoing Chemotherapy: A Case Series (Pilot Study).
Elizabeth is a graduate in international affairs (Michigan State University (B.A.), and Columbia University (Masters in International Affairs) and holds a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Chinese Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, with overseas certifications from the Universities of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu and Shanghai, China (2004, 2007). Elizabeth is Nationally Board Certified by the NCCAOM (National College Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine).
Dr. Marazita lives with her family in Houston, Texas. Her favorite passions are Tai chi, travel and learning languages.
